Imagine being all alone on Thanksgiving Day and not having a big family dinner like most of us are accustomed to. Sadly, for many, this is this Thanksgiving Day will be like.
We are asking for food and help in providing Thanksgiving dinner on for a group of about 75 seniors at the Morningside Park Apartments. This is the group that New Hope has been providing food for through the "Sharing our Pantry" program coordinated by Angie Bernard.
We will provide a full turkey dinner with all the fixings, and would like contributions of table centerpieces, beverages, homemade pies, cookies and cakes for the residents. Items that can be frozen like cookies and breads can be brought in to New Hope on Saturday, Nov. 22, but more perishable items such as pies should wait until Wednesday, Nov. 26. Cash donations for purchasing the food are also appreciated.
Angie Bernard will be in the lobby the next two Saturdays if you would like to sign-up for something to contribute to the meal or to get more information. If your family would like to help serve and visit with the seniors on Thanksgiving day, please let her know or e-mail us here.
